Rokt to Acquire AfterSell to Expand SMB Offering

Rokt, an ecommerce technology company that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to personalize checkout experiences, is acquiring AfterSell, a solution that powers ecommerce cross-sells and upsells. Because AfterSell is a Shopify and Shopify Plus partner, the purchase will help Rokt better position itself within the SMB audience and expand its client portfolio in this sector to more than 20,000 merchants. The transaction is expected to close by Feb. 1, 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Once the acquisition is complete, Rokt will be able to build upon its own Shopify app, Rokt Ecommerce. Currently, Rokt Ecommerce merchants have access to proprietary technology that serves relevant ads to consumers’ checkout and “thank you” pages. The addition of AfterSell will make this experience more robust, offering personalized cart, checkout and post-purchase upselling capabilities.
