TikTok, Instagram, Faceboook, LinkedIn, mobile apps, ecommerce sites. The list of channels and platforms goes on and on. And small businesses in particular are feeling the heat to create compelling content at scale, which is why 42% are using AI-generated, according to Getty Images’ VisualGPS research.
Getty Images is capitalizing on this market need by launching Generative AI by iStock. Getty Images is promoting it as an “affordable and commercially safe” generative AI tool for visual content creation. It is now available for all iStock customers in more than 75 languages.
Generative AI by iStock is powered by NVIDIA Picasso and trained exclusively using high‑quality content and proprietary data from Getty Images’ creative libraries. The tool works with iStock’s library of authentic and commercial‑ready imagery, including millions of exclusive photos, illustrations and videos. A robust data set powers the tool and also guards known products, people, pleases and other copyrighted elements. All licensed visuals that customers generate come with iStock’s standard $10,000 legal coverage.
“Using AI, creatives gain the ability to produce anything they can imagine,” said Grant Farhall, iStock’s Chief Product Officer in a statement. “Our main goal with Generative AI by iStock is to provide customers with an easy and affordable option to use AI in their creative process, without fear that something that is legally protected has snuck into the dataset and could end up in their work. Our AI Generator is easy to use, produces relevant and high‑quality visuals, and is backed by our legal protection so customers can now safely use this new service, in combination with our amazing pre‑shot library, to elevate their work.”
